Numerous Rishis, Munis, Saints and wise men, enlightened souls and great-men appeared on this earth with the immortal message of God, the supreme father. This cycle has been going on right from the beginning of universe and the time wove its magic of change and transformation during its journey. These enlightened and dedicated souls served mankind in various ways and interpreted religions in accordance with the need and requirements of their age.
In this transitional period of science, Technology and Computers, the most Revered Sudhanshuji Maharaj appeared on this earth to define the real character of religion, to awaken the powers lying dormant in human consciousness and to sound the buggle of human welfare.
In the course of this long and extensive journey he saw the rejected and dejected old people, orphans and the poor and a very large majority of people leading life of illusion, taboos and meaningless conventions. This touched him deeply and stirred him to do something for them. He thought of serving them through awakening their consciousness and thus unlocking the most latent energy of their self-confidence. Consequently. Vishwa Jagriti mission was formed on 24th march, 1991, in Delhi, the national capital of India. This was the day of birth of lord Rama also celebrated as Ram-Navami. The motto was Reconstruction of Indian society, based on the best ideals of Indian culture.
The reversed Maharajshri, on the one hand, gave new direction to human consciousness, employing the Maryada(great traditions) of lord Rama ( known for his highest ideals ), the Karma-Yoga ( or dynamic philosophy of action of lord Krishna), the compassion of Buddha, non-violence of Mahavir and the ideals and ideals popular saints(of common man’s sensibility) such as Nanak, Kabir, Raidas and many other and, on the other land, he identified the values of human relations, ideals, bench-marks and traditions from Indian culture, and, re-arresting them, he directed a great campaign of service to humanity, it was founding of VISHWA JAGRITI MISSION.
Vishwa Jagriti Mission, founded by the Reversed Maharajshri, has, over the last 20 years, established more than 80 Mandals and Sewa Samitis all over the country for the upliftment of men, service to the poor and down-trodden. And for dissemination of faith and religion and selfless service to mankind. The efficient running of these centres and Samitis has set high standards for religious awakening and service of humanity The Revered Mahrajshri is at its centre, and very close to the activities happening around, today his more than six million devotes, all around the world, acknowledge him as their intimate friend, philosopher, guide, and a brother always blessing them.

The Objectives of Vishwa Jagriti Mission

The aim of the mission is to kindle the bright flame of human welfare through various projects by inculcating high felling such as love, faith, affection and fellow-felling, co-operation and charity, self-study, simran( chanting the name of lord ), Sadhana, and a deep sense of spirituality and god in the hearts of all. The reversed Shri felt that a heavenly environment should be created in the whole society so that the lotuses of joy blossom forth in every courtyard, and the senior and old persons, mentors(gurus) and teachers are always respected by all. Children should offer happiness, respect and honour to their parents, the youth should realize their duties and responsibilities, and utilise their energy in furthering the cause of religion, culture and human values and in building in their nation. Every sector of society should respect women and every child should discover the path of progress under the begin love of his mother and father. No one should be called an orphan on this earth of lord Jagannath. And mankind should scale the highest peaks of divinity through peace, brother hood, co-opreative, non-violence and harmony spread all over the globe.

Karunsindhu charitable hospital: A Temple of service to Humanity

This hospital was established in 1998 in the natural pollution-free environment in the complex of Ananddham Ashram, Delhi for free medical service- medicine and consultation to the poor and the helpless patients coming from the villages and habitats of the poor. The Hospital has various departments such as Ent, Eye, General Physicians etc. and there is a wing offering Homeopathic treatment as well.
The hospital ranks one of the best five eyes hospitals in Delhi, which is equipped with the latest machines and technology for testing and treating the eye diseases. Ratina is also tested and treated here. Upto June 2011 the hospital performed free cataract operations for 9,490 eye patients. An operations which costs 20-25,000 rupees else where, is performed here free of charge. Orphaned poor and helpless patients are provided free spects and lens. The hospital has special arrangements for examining and treating ratina. There is a team of 25n qualified, efficient and dedicated doctors, offering their services to 400 patients daily. The hospital catered free medical service to 6,46,229 patients till June 2011. There is a mobile medical van also, which visits slums and jhuggi- jhonparis daily, where its dedicated team of doctors treats the poor free of charge. Hospitals have been established for the treatment of the poor and backward people in Kanpur and Faridabad also.

Saketdham Vridhasharam (old age home)

Mission has established Saketdham Vridhasharam in Ananddham Ashram, Delhi in order to ensure that the old and neglected persons of Indian society can live here with dignity, have good health and security so as to ensure mental and spiritual progress in a natural and peaceful environment! Says Rev. Sadguru Shri Sudhanshuji maharaj. “We believe that when a person is sixty years old, he should rise above worldly affections, he should devote his heart and soul to remembering God; go in the shelter of guru in a spirit of detachment and make his life meaningful and relevant”.
With the determination, Maharajshri founded this Vridhasharam in the quite, beautiful and natural environment of Anand dham Ashram in 1998. This Vridhasharam is housed in a vast and magnificent three storied buildings. Here the old men, following a relaxed daily schedule themselves to various kinds of services. They lead a happy and contented life.

The very name is suggestive of an energitive, courageous and peaceful existence in the sun-set-of-life. It is a human temple dedicated to japa, tapa, service, remembering the name of lord, Sadhana and spiritual up liftment. Vishwa Jagriti mission provides food, clothes, lodging, and medical service free of charge to the old persons here. The old persons take part In Yajnas, singing of human and devotional songs, games and sports daily. They perform light exercises and pranayam (breathing exercise) daily in the morning. Similar Ashrams have been set up in Hyderabad, Kanpur and panipat also.
This Ashram for the old has a dormitory and rooms. There is separate arrangement for men and women. Every resident is given a separate bed, bed clothing (for summer and winter) almirah and a chair. All the residents of the Vridhasharam observe the fixed daily routine in a disciplined, purposeful, devotional and service oriented manner. Morning schedule starts with a visit to God in the temple. The ashram has three magnificent temples, viz. Anand-dham Mandir, Siddheshwar Mandir and Nav-grah Shani Mandir. After that they take part in yojna. After the morning tea, they undertake light exercise and then practice breathing slowly and for long duration. Then a refreshing morning breakfast is followed by a visit to satsang hall, where they sing hymns and join in the recital of Sundar-kand (from the Ramayana). They take some rest after lunchon. There is afternoon tea at 4.00 p.m. and than the old person play light sports. These comprise of badminton or playing the ring. In the evening the old men assemble in the temple for Arativandan or evening prayer. After right meals the old inhabitants retire to sleep. They are served milk before they go to sleep.
Camps for physical and mental development of the old persons are organized periodically. Psychologists and yoga experts also visit and provide appropriate directions to them. Free medical treatment is also available to the old persons in Karunasindhu Hospital, located in the Ashram complex. Medicines are also provided free of charge. There is a Reading room in the Ashram where newspapers, religious magazines and books are also available to them. Those old persons, who are physically fit and energetic, render some service and earn piety by working in the hospital, Gurukul and other places, All the old persons have the privilege of having darshan of Maharajshri and get his blessings daily. Visits to the city or places of religious significance are also organized for them from time to time. Free residential, Food and medical facilities are provided to all men and women.
